Peter Falk (1927 - 2011), Chess Fan
Peter Falk kibitzes with GM Yasser Seirawan
Peter Falk, best known for playing the disheveled Los Angeles detective "Columbo" on television, and less well known for playing chess, has died. He was 83. My mother will be very sad, as she loved Columbo. Edward Winter has posted several pictures of Falk as a chess spectator (including the one above with a young Yasser Seirwan). Obituaries are widely available, including in the New York Times.

I think the problem is not so much the 20 minutes spent on 7...dxc4, but the follow up. Fischer's rule is very handy in such a case. Say to yourself that you will think x minutes at the max and then make the move you think best at that moment. It's better to play a slightly imprecise move and stay in the game than lose on your flag in a completely won position.
wanted to tell you that hmv dvd store are selling columbo collection all episodes starring peter falk peter was a wonderful actor total legend and this reflected in his global awards he won
