Milton Friedman Played Chess
Add another to the list of chessplaying academics: Nobel prize winner and Rutgers alumnus Milton Friedman, who died yesterday at age 94, "played on the chess team" during high school in Rahway, NJ. The obit in the Chicago Tribune suggests he was too short (5'2" as an adult) to play other sports....
