FIDE World Championship

We can now count down a month and a half to the FIDE World Championship in Argentina, which will run from September 27-October 16. Though a few of the special K's are missing (Kramnik and Kasparov -- not to mention Korchnoi and Karpov, though the latter are hardly contenders anymore), it promises to be a great tournament. Whether or not it will be universally accepted as crowning a new world champion without Kramnik's participation is anyone's guess. You can read more about it, including an interview with Anand, at ChessBase News.
