Two comments:

1. I cannot find any record of Malcolm Pein’s book "How to Play the King's Indian Attack" (Chrysalis 1999) that you mentioned. Maybe it's publication was cancelled?

2. In recent years, Neil McDonald has written "The King's Indian attack: move by move" (Everyman, 2014), and Jerzy Konikowski and Robert Ullrich have penned “The King's Indian Attack... Properly Played” (Joachim Beyer, 2018).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12844144.post-69847207085244803142008-11-23T04:53:00.000-05:002008-11-23T04:53:00.000-05:00I hope you get this after all this time.It seems i...I hope you get this after all this time.

It seems it is typical to deal with everything except the KIA via 1 e4 e5. The books spend tons of time on the French, or how to play 1 Nf3, etc.. I want to use it as white when black plays e5 (and will continue using the Smith Morra against the Sicilian, for instance).

Do you know why this is, and do you know if any of the above authors really cover the e4 e5 lines? My understanding is that most lines, white hasn't played e5 until later (like when using it against the French or Sicilian). Does that kill the KIA?Blue Devil Knighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12045468316613818510noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12844144.post-52187149838965706682008-10-09T06:58:00.000-04:002008-10-09T06:58:00.000-04:00www.kings-indian-attack.blogspot.comis no longer a...www.kings-indian-attack.blogspot.com
is no longer availableAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
